Zoneless fixed price system
The Oulu Regional Transport’s ticket and service prices and zone model will be renewed on December 17, 2024. Traveling becomes easier and clearer in the zoneless fixed price system.
Bus zones will become history
The previous five zones will merge and there will be only one public transportation region. The region covers the surrounding municipalities Ii, Kempele, Liminka, Lumijoki, Muhos, Tyrnävä and the city of Oulu.
Zoneless fixed price system will be taken into use in public bus transportation between Hailuoto and Oulu. Even though Hailuoto is not included in the OSL region, OSL tickets are valid on Hailuoto’s bus lines 59 and 59S as well.
With an OSL ticket, you can travel in the entire area during the ticket’s validity period. For example, during the 90-minute validity period of a single ticket, you can travel on as many buses as you wish.
Ticket prices will change on December 17, 2024
There have not been changes to fares for the past ten years despite the fact that expenses have increased. The prices below include currently valid value added tax.
Single tickets
The price of single tickets will be the same on the OSL app, as OSL Card value and when bought from R-Kioski locations based on age group.
Single tickets paid in cash aboard the bus cost 5,00 € for adults, young people and seniors, and 2,00 € for children. Please note that single tickets paid in cash will include a night charge, double price, from 23.00 to 04.30 hrs.

Contactless payment
On OSL’s transportation, contactless payments are a mix of single and day tickets. The price of the single ticket for all customer groups is 2,60 €. When paying for your travel with the same contactless payment method during one day (00.00–23.59), you will be charged a maximum of 9,00 € (payment ceiling).
Day tickets
A day ticket purchased from the OSL app or an R-Kioski location will become valid immediately after purchase.
Day tickets purchased from Oulu10 service points will become valid after first use.

Season tickets
Season tickets purchased from the OSL app will become valid immediately after purchase.
Season tickets loaded onto an OSL Card will become valid after first use.

Other changes
After the renewal, traveling with baby carriages will be free of charge in the entire OSL region. On the routes serving between the city of Oulu and Hailuoto travelling with baby carriages will be charged.
Service fees
The service fees will be revised at same time with the change to zoneless fixed price system. The fees include currently valid value added taxes.

What must I do?
The change does not require any action from customers. The OSL Card’s (previous Waltti Card) default zones and season ticket zones as well as OSL app tickets will be updated automatically. Tickets purchased before the change will work in the entire OSL region regardless of chosen zones until the end of their validity period. Tickets for the new model can be purchased starting from December 17, 2024.
If you need a new OSL Card, place an order latest 8.12. OSL Card orders will be suspended temporarily from 9th to 17th December due to the change to zoneless system.
Tickets sales
Tickets can be purchased on the OSL app, some R-Kioski locations, Oulu10 service points and the Waltti Solutions Oy online store: waltti.fi/en. Please note that ticket machines will no longer be used as the ticket and zone renewal comes into effect. OSL tickets can also be purchased from third-party apps (prices may include service charges).
The prices presented on this page include currently valid VAT. According to the government proposal the VAT rate of passenger transport tickets would be raised from 10 % to 14 % as of 1.1.2025.
